The Texas Association for Alternative Education welcomes each of you next week to its annual conference. This year will serve as the 32nd Annual conference. Friday, January 28, 2022 was the last day to register online for the in person conference. The conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel Austin North, formerly Crowne Plaza Hotel in Austin, Texas. Three special additions to the conference this year will be a Genius Bar on Wednesday, a Conference Resource Library and 6 School Showcases.

The six school showcase sessions will allow attendees a first hand look into Alternative Campuses, Schools of Choice, and Discipline Alternative Education Placement Campuses throughout the state. Q & A and brochures will also be made available. Each school will be added to the taae.org website for further networking. A final addition this year is a conference resource library. Attendees are asked to bring and share a book, pamphlet, or even manual that can be beneficial to others at the conference. These items can be dropped off or selected at the TAAE booth. Disposable masks and hand sanitizer will be provided.

Other items to note on the conference schedule will include awards presentations and breakout sessions. There will be 4 sections of breakout sessions on Thursday. A DJ and entertainment will conclude Thursday night. A silent auction will allow attendees to bid and win prizes. All proceeds benefit the Taylor Marceau Scholarship. Keynote speakers for Friday include, Mrs. Mary Scott, TEA’s Legislative Updates and Chapter 37. The second speaker will be The Law Dawg, Mr. Jim Walsh. The final keynote speaker will be Comedy Magician Dewayne Hill. Come out and make this a worthwhile event.
