TAAE to Present Best Practice Award

Alpha AcademyTAAE is proud to present ALPHA Academy of Magnolia ISD with the Best Practice Award at its 31st Annual Conference this year. A $500 award is sponsored by TAAE annual during its annual conference. TAAE congratulates, Mr. Bryan Cooper and his staff for submitting the MultiLevel Flexible Scheduling Program it currently uses. The Best Practice Award is presented to an alternative school, DAEP, AEP, JJAEP, charter school, or School of Choice with a sound focus on an established outstanding and promising classroom practice. TAAE’s goal to recognize and disseminate these skills and ideas to its members will be showcased in its newsletter. TAAE will also showcase the program and school on it’s website next month for member review. Impacting school climate, the focus of the best practice here, was a priority for the newly appointed principal last school year. Mr. Cooper found himself asking how this school was any different from the traditional schools. How was this school “alternative”? He acknowledged that students were being taken out of their original schools where they were not successful and were merely being placed in a smaller school. This was not making ALPHA Academy an alternative to the traditional school system. The need for a truly “alternative” option was imperative for students who were not successful in the traditional school setting. Please help us congratulate Mr. Cooper and ALPHA Academy.
